2026-2027 Announcements
- 150 Social Justice Hostels will be constructed for Adi Dravidar and Tribal students. To create a conducive environment for Adi Dravidar and Tribal students to pursue their education, 150 Social Justice Hostels will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.160 crore. Orders Yet to be issued
- 100 Community Halls will be constructed to facilitate community events. Based on the identification of areas predominantly inhabited by Adi Dravidars, 100 Community Halls will be constructed to facilitate the conduct of community events. Orders Yet to be issued
- A "TRADE CENTRE" will be constructed in Coimbatore to encourage Adi Dravidar and Tribal entrepreneurs, create appropriate opportunities and generate revenue for the Government. Orders Yet to be issued
- “URAYUL– Tribal Housing Scheme” will be implemented for homeless Tribals. Under the scheme, 2,000 concrete houses will be constructed and provided to homeless Tribal families. Orders Yet to be issued

Construction Activities & Funding Schemes
Construction of Schools, Hostels, Community halls, Shopping complexes, Katral karpithal koodam (Learning and Teaching Centres),Multi-purpose centres, and Tribal housing, along with Repair and Maintenance works and the provision of basic infrastructure in Adi Dravidar and Tribal habitations, for the welfare and development of SC/ST communities is undertaken by the construction wing of TAHDCO — currently 4724 works valued at Rs.1376.26 Crore across various schemes.

- 3 hostel buildings under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana (BJRCY) in Tirunelveli districts — Rs.17.25 Cr
- 53 School building & Dining Shed under (PM-AJAY) at Rs. 21.20 Cr across Tamilnadu.
- Retaining Wall in M.Palada & Velimalai under Article 275 — Rs.2.00 Cr

Type Of Design
Hostel Elevation
The hostel provides comfortable student accommodation with cots, study tables, individual storage and dormitories for six students with attached washrooms. It also includes clothes-drying areas, a multipurpose hall with gym, indoor games and library, cook’s room with toilet, utensil-washing and fuel areas, two-wheeler parking, visitors’ meeting room and landscaped spaces.
School elevation
The classrooms are equipped with double-entry doors, teacher stage platforms, UPVC doors and windows, notice boards, green boards, storage cupboards, shoe racks and student furniture, along with ramps to ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Community Hall
Provisions for Marriage Hall, Kitchen cum Dining Hall, Storage Room, Utensils Wash Area, Bride and Bride groom Room, Office Room, Etc., Operation and Maintenance will be done by TCHMC formed by TAHDCO with 5 Women Members. TAHDCO by Loan with subsidy a sum of Rs.3 Lakh released for purchase of Guest Chairs,Dining Tables and Chairs, Furnitures in Bride/ Bride groom and Office room. The rent for furnitures and Maintenance Cost collected by the Groups will be used for maintenance and balance amount will be divided by the members.
VILLAGE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
Village Knowledge Centre buildings are maintained by Self Help Groups (SHGs) and provide essential facilities for community development, including an Administrative Office, Training Centre, Counselling Room, Computer/Library Room, Toilets and Dining Hall. These facilities support training, digital learning, counselling, administrative activities and other community-oriented programmes.
The Multi-purpose Centre
Multipurpose Centre for SC/ST: A dedicated facility for conducting official meetings, review meetings, training programmes, workshops, seminars, awareness programmes and consultations related to the welfare and development of SC/ST communities, with modern meeting, audio-visual, video conferencing and administrative facilities.
Katral Karpithal Koodam
The centre has an area ranging from 114 to 140 sq. m, with facilities including a Library, Reading Zone, Cyber Zone and Games Zone. It provides indoor and traditional games such as Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Ludo, Pandiya Attam, Paramapadham and Pallanguzhi. The Cyber Zone is equipped with computers with MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Wi-Fi connectivity to support digital learning and access to information.
Basic Infrastructure Development in SC/ST Community Areas
Development of essential basic infrastructure facilities in SC/ST community areas to improve living conditions and provide better access to roads, drainage, drinking water, sanitation, street lighting and other necessary public amenities.
Housing for Narikuravar & Other ST Peoples
Construction of houses for Narikuravar and other Tribal beneficiaries, covering 1253 Narikuravar families and 2007 other Tribal families. Amenities: Living Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, Wash Area, Toilet and Verandah Unit Cost: Rs.5.07 lakh per house in plain areas and Rs.5.73 lakh per house in hilly areas.
Shopping Complex for SC/ST Entrepreneurs
A dedicated commercial facility providing shop spaces and business infrastructure for SC/ST entrepreneurs to establish and expand their enterprises. The complex aims to promote entrepreneurship, self-employment, market access and sustainable livelihood opportunities for SC/ST communities.
